Came back from my Syamail class and I found this note on my bed.
Kids and their note!! 🙂
I used to call him ‘My Little Maulid Boy’ as he loves to attend Maulid events. Alhamdulillah, he still is. And today, he is NINE years old.
“Happy 9th birthday, Affandy. May Allah shower you with HIS utmost love, blessings and protection. May your love and devotion towards Allah and Rasulullah S.A.W deepens throughout your living years. May your passion in selawat will continue in order to receive the syafaat from our beloved Rasulullah S.A.W.”
As per his own personal request for his birthday, we invited Al-Fadhil Ustaz Solihin and our selawats brothers and sisters to our abode for the recitation of Qasidah Burdah with other selawat in between. Alhamdulillah, the event went well. I felt so bless to have my humble abode transformed into a garden of paradise, putting high hopes that Rasulullah S.A.W would be with us during all those selawats.
I was still having migraine this morning. But not as bad as yesterday. Since Hubby already applied for leave to bring us out, we brought the kids for a swim at Sengkang Swimming Complex.
The weather in the morning was extremely hot. I kept on reminding my kids to swim under the shade. But being them, they insisted to glide down the slides lots of times. Under Hubby’s supervision, I let them be.
I was quite upset actually as we did not have the chance to bring the kids for a short holiday, not even for a trip to JB. The kids’ schedules for this school holiday were really hectic. This week is the last week of school holiday, and they still need to come back to school.
On a lighter note, Hubby and I are in the midst of clearing our storeroom. We threw lots and lots of unwanted things, some even we had no idea where they came from. As I’m typing this, Hubby is painting the storeroom. Hopefully by tomorrow we can have a more organize storeroom with no “rubbish” items in it.
Another new try-out. Homemade Naan and Chicken Curry Masala.
I almost changed the menu today as I started cooking quite late. These two recipes needed to be marinated and left for at least two hours. But Alhamdulillah, I managed to get everything done just in time. So my family members get to eat the Naan hot and fresh from the Happy Call Pan.
Furthermore, I have my two little kiddos to help me to finish making the Naan. They just came back from school and were eager to help out. Actually they just wanted to play around with the dough, flour and rolling pin. But their Naan turned out to be perfect.
I’ll try to be independent as much as possible when Hubby is not in town, in terms of going to places. I foresee that Hubby will be travelling very often, and I do not want to be stuck at home, going nowhere, just because he’s not here to drive me around. I need to be fair to my children. It’s not that I’m against the idea of staying home, but IF they stay home, their companion will be either the TV, PC, Ipad and handphones. So they need to go out.
Like today, all of us went out, even though not together. My KSS sisters and brothers came for a visit, to bring Afrina and Affandy to a Selawat Session at Ustaz Shafi’s house at JB. Afiqah and I had to stay behind as Afiqah could not afford to be absent from her tuition.
At the same time, my KSS sisters actually wanted to take a look at my new kitchen. Haha! They even took picture with R E D…. 🙂
They were all dressed up in black for the Selawat session. If it’s not because of Afiqah’s tuition, I would dress like them and join them.
But nevertheless, I had fun with Afiqah today. After her tuition, we watched the movie “Mirror Mirror”.
She said she loves it when only the two of us go out. No interruptions. I get what you mean, girl. I feel you, too. But I still miss my two other muchkins. 🙂 Err….three actually, including Hubby.
