I was really clueless what was Affandy up to today.
Both Afiqah and Affandy wanted to go to school early as they wanted to eat their lunch before the school started. Once a while I let them go early so that they could mingled with their school friends and have their lunch at school.
Then Affandy called me at home for the first time, crying and saying that he lost his 10 cents. Haizzz……Baru hilang seposen dah nangis, kalau hilang 10 ribu macamana? 😀
I told him it’s no big deal as he had extra pocket money and he could use that up. Case closed.
A few minutes later, he called me again, crying harder this time, saying that he did not want to go to school and wanted to go home. Apa kena budak ni?
He simply said, “Ady nak Ummi, Ady miss Ummi….” Boleh cair tau….
But how could I allow him to skip school just because he missed me? Ridiculous, right?
I coaxed him nicely saying that I missed him too and I promised to fetch him right after school.
He cried again saying that he could not go to school because he was coughing. Ada aje…..
Again I told him he just had a minor cough and he just needed to drink more water. When all his effort to skip school fail, he reluctantly put down the phone.
To my horror, my phone rang again! Apa lagi budak ni….
Seriously, I was ready to scold him for calling me again, then I heard Afiqah’s voice on the phone. Eventually, Affandy tried to use Afiqah to talk to me so that he could go home and be with me. Sorryyyyyy…..tak jalan.
I asked Afiqah what’s the actual problem was, now then I knew what caused all these phone calls.
According to Afiqah, while Affandy was eating Nasi Lemak, he choked on the ikan bilis. Even after he drank lots of water, he was still coughing and that made him wanted to go home. So ini cerita dia rupanya…..
I asked Afiqah to take care of his little brother. If the coughing still persisted, get his teacher to call me so that I could fetch him.
At home, I prayed that it’s not serious and hoping that my son would be fine.
In the evening, with a little worry I fetched my two younger kids from school. Affandy came out first and he was his normal self – active, running here and there and very sweaty. So my guess was that all the phone calls in the morning were a little dramatic on Affandy’s side.
