Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri!!

The month of triumph is finally here!

My personal goals being set for Ramadhan has been achieved. Maybe not 100%, but at least there’s achievement in reaching the goals. Alhamdulillah!

The house and the food – lontong, ketupat, ayam masak merah, sambal tumis telus, lemak lodeh and daging masak kicap, are all ready.

Right after our Subuh prayer, we went to perform the Sholat Aidil Fitri nearby our neighbourhood. Had our scrumptious meal once we reached home and we were all ready to meet the clan.

Blessed Friday

It’s indeed a Good Friday and a blessed one, too.

Since it’s a public holiday, Hubby treated us breakfast at McDonalds, which was a very rare occasion. I wish we have more public holidays fall on weekdays so we can do this more often. Having breakfast outside is simply different from having lunch or dinner. Maybe it’s because of the morning sun, I believe .

While waiting for Hubby and Affandy got back from their Friday prayers, the girls and I watched DVDs.

After asar, we headed to Masjid Omar Salmah to attend the gathering organized by Darul Fikrah. We had barbecue and durians extravaganza! Not a fan of raw durians but I enjoyed watching my fellow brothers and sisters eating them.

Month Of Love ♥

February is the month of love for me. Not because of Valentine, don’t care about Valentine anyway.

It’s my GIRLS’ birthday!!

Since their birthdays are so near to each other, we celebrated them today, together with my brother-in-law’s daughter cukur rambut ceremony. Their nenek wanted to celebrate her granddaughters’ special days together, so it happened today.

I am now officially a mother of a 12 years old and 9 years old girls.

Family Time

It’s a Saturday and we had no specific plan for today. We drove all the way to Ang Mo Kio for our lunch at Popeye’s, window shopping and ate ice-cream at Bishan Junction 8, and lastly since the weather was great, we went for a evening stroll at the beach. Simply bonding and quality time.

 

Oh Yes!

Finally my kids and I had somewhere to go.

When we were having our lunch, I sms-ed two of my very close cousins, wanting to make them the victim of my boredom. One of them was going out, but the other one would be home the whole day to accompany her mom (my aunt) as my uncle just passed away recently. Without thinking twice, bought some food for them, hailed a taxi and off we went.

My kids were the most excited people as they got to play with my cousin’s girl, Nisa. Apparently, Nisa was also super excited to see us. Being the only child, she’s simply love our company. And I was super duper excited as I got to romos-ed her many many times!

It’s nice to see that my aunt is coping well after the passed on of my uncle. I could still see the sadness in her eyes, but time will bring back the cheerfulness in her. While the kids were watching TV, my aunt and I had a nice chat. We talked about some current issues, about our volunteering days at the old Masjid Muhajirin, we shared the Islamic knowledge the we had learnt and also touched about our plans for the future. As she is my late mom’s sister, somehow I could see my mom in her. I realized that all my earlier plans failed because Allah wants me to spend bonding and quality time with my aunt. I’m thankful for that….

As I was in the mood to take photos, I brought my 50D along and took some shots at my cousin’s house. Here’s some of them :

New Toy

…and of course it’s not mine. I’ll stick and stay loyal to Canon.

One of my MQG friend bought this new DSLR Pentax K-r. Romosing a new toy is like romosing a new babyborn. Syiokness!!

This DSLR is so much lighter and sooooooo much cheaper than my 50D, but the pics came out equivalent awesome. This camera has received lots of positive reviews.

The best part is, I have one more DSLR kaki to add. Can’t wait for the next photo-shooting session. Woohoooo….!!

Lower Seletar Reservoir

It’s an impromptu decision to meet and shoot. We decided to go to Lower Seletar Reservoir. Though the weather was hot and occasionally cloudy, we still had our fun. Some shots to share…..

Finally I Had MACS

What is MACS? Find it here.

Hubby and I had date to JB again, but this time we went to apply for MACS. We had the approval within less than an hour and can be used on our next visit to JB. This is very useful for those who travelled frequently to JB. We no longer need to fill in the white cards. Just show our passport to the Immigration Counter, they scan and off we go. No worries on whether our passports have been chopped or not.

As usual, we had lunch but this we went to City Square. I always wanted to shop here but no chance yet. The killing part is the car park. You’re lucky if you can get an empty slot during peak hours. Hubby rode his bike, so parking was not a problem to us today.

I bought this Durian Cream Puff from Papa Beard. It’s sinfully delicious and creamy. But I had heart burn after eating it. Too heaty for me, I guess….

 

Loving It

After a month of holiday, Masjid An-Nur reverberate again with Surah Al-Waqiah, Selawat, Qasidah and beautiful advice from our Ustaz Shafi.

Simply blissful….

Since the old building of Masjid An-Nur will be demolished soon to make way for a new one, we had our Dhuha class at the temporary site. Not bad for a temporary site as it’s spacious, bright and it’s not warm inside. There are lots of ceiling fans installed. According to Ustaz, the temporary site is not a wakaf place, it’s just like a ordinary hall. Ladies who are under menstruations are allow to go in. So there’s no reason for not attending the class.

 

Lunch Date

I can’t remember when was the last time I had a lunch date with Hubby at JB. It seems like so long ago.

Well, today we make it happened. After sending Affandy to school, Hubby fetched me and off we went. It might be nothing special, just lunch, bought some groceries, filled up petrol and went home. But  it meant so much to a homemaker like me. I get to go out; better than idling at home doing the normal routine and wait for everyone to be home. I get to lunch out; even though I’ve cooked. Kind of wanting to eat other people’s cooking. And I get to do my grocery shopping, peacefully .

I hope that this lunch date thingy will be a weekly outing, just like it used to be. As I enjoyed everything single moment of it.
