Day 3 : Aku Tak Bodoh

My busiest part of the day was only in the morning. After my children went to school and Qur’an class, I went to the market. The first half of the day doing the normal routine house chores. Nothing exciting.

While Hubby was at work and Afrina still in school, me and my two youngest kiddos watch the movie “Aku Tak Bodoh“. I am not good in giving reviews to movies. But my opinion is that, there’s a deep message in this movie. I urge parents to watch this movie. Sometimes, we as parents, do not realize that we make mistakes in the process of our children’s upbringing. We sometimes fail to recognize our children’s needs. We think that scolding and beating are always the best solutions in disciplining them. Our children need our love, encouragement, trust, touch etc. Be there for them before they drift further and further away from you.

This movie may be a comedy, but I like the storyline overall. This is the kind of movie that makes you laugh, reflect and cry at the same time.

Movie & Time Zone Day

The girls chose to watch this movie – Red Riding Hood. They do not want to watch any “cartoon” movie as they said Abah can buy the DVD from JB.

We were already at Causeway Point by 9 am. We had our breakfast at McDonalds and I booked the 10.30 am show. What I love about going to the morning show is that the cinema was almost empty. The movie was quite good actually which made us guess who’s the real wolf was. There’s some resemblance of Twilight as they shared the same director.

Right after lunch, it’s time to have fun at Time Zone. Let them play whatever game they want cause I don’t think they will step into Time Zone during school term, even though on weekends. No way.

Lepak Day

My kids already packed their bags to go for swimming today. But changed of plan.

It was raining since early in the morning and I was having second thought whether should I proceed with the plan. Then I received a SMS from one of my KSS sisters inviting us over to her house to lepak-lepak. She said that she’s preparing Macaroni Soup today. I tell you, her Macaroni Soup is not the ordinary kind of soup. With her own special recipe for the soup and her sambal kicap cili padi, it’s really power gillerrrrrr…….!

I was so tempted with the invitation, plus some of my KSS sisters would also be there, so I declared today is lepak day at her house.

She did not only prepared Macaroni Soup, there’s also Mee Hong Kong and Egg & Prawn Curry to eat with rice.

We didn’t do much actually. We just chatted around, prayed, watched TV and ate. That’s what we called lepak, right?

With the host’s daughter, my girls were in their own world, doing girls’ things, inside her room. Affandy was also contented with his PSP and Bey Blade. We even let him watched his favourite TV channels – Cartoon Network & Disney Channel. So he did not complaint much.

Since my kids were well taken of, I left them and went shopping with my KSS sisters at Toa Payoh Central. Simply heaven, shopping with them. Got some clothings at a very cheap price. After touring the Central, we had drinks at one of the food court and we shared plates of rojak, cut fruits and deserts.

Surprisingly, Affandy did not call me up to ask my whereabout. When we came back to my friend’s place, he was still holding his PSP while watching TV.

My friend asked my girls to sleepover at her house, but since Hubby was not in town, I asked her daughter to follow us home instead. I planned to catch a movie with my kids tomorrow, she could join us too. So tonight I had one more girl at home.

By the time we reached home was already late, I got them to sleep as tomorrow we shall watch the morning show.

T3 Day

Going to Terminal 3 of Changi Airport is under the activities plan.

So off we went right after our Zuhur prayer. Before that, my kids and I took the MRT and bus to fetch Yang DiPertuan Agong Tengku HD at Sengkang. Hahaha… He’s my cousin’s son actually who shared almost the same birthday with Affandy. Both Affandy and HD are one real close buddies.

My cousin told me the direction to her mom’s place to fetch her son, as even though I went there so many times, it was my virgin trip to go there without my driver. Yeay to me as I succeeded reaching there on my own!!

Anyway, after fetching HD, I thought of going to the airport by bus since we had lots of time before meeting my cousin who works there. But with 3 + 1 kids on tow, forget the bus. I saw a vacant taxi, hailed it and hopped in. Simple right…..?

Once we reached the T3, the kids were like “baru lepas dari kandang”. The airport was almost empty and they ran here and there like nobody’s business. Gasak kau lah nak!

With the kids, eating is like a compulsory thing. Die die also must eat. Where else, if not the big letter “M”, kids all time favourites.

While the boys were busy with their Bey Blade thingy…..

The girls were enjoying their deserts……

I brought them to the Viewing Mall and let them played on their own, and they left me alone to enjoy my reading……

Splendid! I love school holidays……♥♥♥

Library Day

I feel like a “complete mom” if I succeeded in waking up all my three kids to perform their Subuh prayer. I admit that I have difficulties in waking them every morning. They have their alarm clocks and set alarm at their handphones, but still it’s ALWAYS me who wake them up. Yes, I am their living alarm clock.

And I love it when they did not go back to sleep after the Subuh prayer today. They took their breakfast and read books. Then it’s time for them to shower as they had to attend their Qu’ran class. I purposely got them to go very early for the class, so that they would be the first to recite and left the place early.

And I was surprised when they were already home before 10 am. As expected, they were the first to reach the class.

Today I cooked their all time  favourite home cook meal – Nasi Goreng Tomyam. Easy to cook and nice to eat. This time, I added sliced chilli padi in it. It’s for me actually. Love it when the kids said, “Sedap gillllerrrrrr…….!!!” LOL!!

We left the house after our Zuhur prayer. Even though I had cooked, the kids still want to munch. So we headed to Long John Silver to have some snacks.

Our next stop was the library. I registered them earlier at the Media Fiesta organized by National Library Board. They learnt how to create a story based on their imagination. When the three of them were in the class, I had two solid hours of my own. I grabbed a book and was in my own little heaven….

 

Stay Home Day

Morning, I  brought the kids to the market with me right after their Qu’ran class. After our breakfast, Afrina helped me in the kitchen to cook. I feel very blessed to have a grown up daughter. Instead of just passing her time in her room reading books or watch TV, might as well she assist me in the kitchen. She did all the washing and cutting of vegetables. I just told her what to do and she did the cooking. Today I taught her to cook a very simple dish, Lemak Sayur. She was surprised to know that how simple to cook this dish. Baru kau tahu nak….

So I told her next time she will prepare this dish on her own.

The girls decided to make their own Cheeseburger for lunch. Since we have all the ingredients, why not. So the three of us ate Cheeseburger for lunch, while Affandy who does not eat bread, ate rice and lauk Lemak.

I always tell myself to do something useful and satisfying if I’m home. So today I did lots of ironing. I ironed for two solid hours. I ironed mostly all my blouses and jubah till I ran out of hangers. It’s tiring but ironing has been my favourite house chore so far. I didn’t realize that I’ve been ironing for two hours as I watched the DVD Knights & Day while ironing.

Apparently at night,  I had a throbbing headache. Not just that, my right hand was in pain due to the ironing, I supposed. Afrina helped by massaging my head, combed and played with my hair. Before 10 pm, I was already in slumber land..

My Swimmer Boy

Today was Affandy’s last day of swimming intensive course. From someone who is fear of water, especially in the deep pool, he now can float and swim independently. He had a great and patient coach to begin with. The coach not just taught him how to swim, but also instilled confidence and courage in Affandy. Alhamdulillah…

Good job, Affandy! Ummi is so proud of you…..

Movie Day

I had so much fun with the kids today. It might be nothing new, but when I knew that the kids were having a great time, I am a very contented mother.

They started the day by attending their Qu’ran class. I purposely asking them to go as early as 8.30 a.m even though their class starts at 9.00. This is because their Ustazah will teach on first-come-first-serve basis. Since it’s a school holiday, all the students will come at the same time and her house will be packed. The waiting hours can be about 2 hours. So it’s either they come VERY early or come VERY late to they don’t have to wait long for their turn.

Anyway, they were the first to reach and the first to finish. By 10.00 a.m they were home. We went out an hour later to where else ~ Causeway Point. It’s the nearest and the safest and the most convenient place to go. Lame excuse!

We watched Rapunzel – A Tangled Tale. I wanted us to watch in 3D, but I changed my mind. It’s not because of the cost. We had never watch a 3D movie before and I was worried that we could not get use to it. I was told that you will feel dizzy for the first time and that’s what I wanted to avoid. I needed to spend the whole day with three kids and having headache was not on my list. Watching the normal movie was not bad after all.

I know it’s just another cartoon movie, but this movie realllllyy moved me. I could not believed that I cried watching this cartoon movie. Especially the part where the king and the queen released the lantern on every Rapunzel’s birthday. They had not seen their daughter for 18 years! I don’t know, at that point of time, I put myself in their shoes. What if it’s me who need to remember my children’s  birthdays but they are not in front of me. I dreaded those moments. I could feel the ache, misery, affliction, grief and so on. Thank Allah that my kids were with me in the cinema, just between reach.

After that we ate, we went to borrow books from library, we played games at Time Zone, we shopped, we tawaf satu Causeway Point and we went home.

Sounds boring, but yet it’s not. Tiring yes, but not boring.

At home, we watched DVD after dinner and went to bed.

There it goes, a full day of fun. Okay lah….

My Swimmers

Even though I am not a swimmer, I want my three kids to know how to swim. I’ve sent Afrina and Afiqah to swimming courses, and Alhamdulillah, now they know how to swim. Now it’s Affandy’s turn.

I can see that he is just like me, fear of water. I had tried to learn to swim a few times, but till now, I just can’t get it. I even can’t make myself to float in the water. So if this country has tsunami or heavy flood, I’ll drown first.

I hope that after this intensive swimming course, Affandy will know how to swim, or at least float in the water. Don’t me like me….

One of my MQG mom introduced this video to me, and I tried it. I was amazed. The steps may look simple, but after trying out the whole thing, I was sweating!
